Why Falador Design?
My name is Austin, I've been an avid shooter & hunter for well over 15 years. It started as a child, born & raised in South Texas I was fortunate enough to grow up around a family of gun enthusiasts & hunters.
I started Falador Design to prove to people that 3D printed parts can be durable, reliable, and easier to manufacture and obtain than more traditional manufacturing methods.
I was raised to be respectful, to do things right, and above all be honest to others. Early on I learned the value and importance of self reliance, honesty, and determination. I try to apply those values in my work every single day.
Simply put: we place a significant value on quality, and customer service. I've seen what causes businesses to fail, we won't be making those same mistakes.

Start of production
Once your order is placed, it's automatically added to our production queue. If a kit is in stock, it bypasses the production queue and notifies us right away.

Machine preperation
One of our machines will have it's bed wiped clean using a lint-free rag & isopropyl alcohol. As an added layer of security, a thin layer of adhesive promoter is applied, virtually eliminating any possibility of warping.
Using a combination of LiDAR and software our printers automatically calibrate the most important settings before each print, not only ensuring precision but also a quality finish.

30 Hours @ 55°C Chamber temp.
We don't sacrifice your safety and the overall quality of our product for the sake of saving a few hours. Many vendors will significantly ramp up their print speeds to "turn and burn" as many housings as is possible. This is fine for beta testing, or personal use - but not for a commercial product people are using with firearms. When you print that fast you WILL encounter layer adhesion issues, and the potential for cracking along stress points.
At Falador Design, we print as slow as possible - 35mm/s average if you're a nerd like us, resulting in an average print time of 32 hours and 40 minutes. Most other vendors print a housing in 8 hours or less. We believe in quality over quantity.

Heater off, Exhaust on
After your housing is done printing, our automatic management system will disable the printer's chamber heater and engage the exhaust fan at it's slowest speed possible. After approximately an hour the housing has cooled without warping, and is ready for post processing.

Inspection, deburring, and final QC
Once the housing has been allowed to cool, we begin by doing a quick check with a jig and a gauge to verify the housing was printed correctly. Once it passes the first stage of quality control, it goes to deburring. Finally, we deburr any holes and remove any hangers as well as inspect any threads. For kit purchases we begin assembly with your desired variant and parts combinations.
