You can source a metal version elsewhere, but that opens up a heated debate between which one is better. Setting our bias aside, we prefer the lightest weight yet most durable version possible - hands down that is a 3D printed slip trip.
Variant breakdown:
PLA PRO/PLA+:
- Durable
- Resistant to chemicals & moisture
- Budget friendly
- No wear & tear on your receiver
PLA-CF:
- Slightly more durable than regular PLA
Nylon PPA/PAHT-CF:
- Extremely durable
- Resistant to chemicals & moisture
- Can/will cause wear to inside of receiver stamping
PLA is what the slip trip was originally designed and intended to be used with. It has excellent strength properties, doesn't care if it's soaked in solvent or carbon, and doesn't crack easily. Nylon has all of those properties, but due to the abrasive nature it will eventually "wear in" a slot/groove from extended use. This won't affect the overall function but you should be aware of it's possibility.
